A wolf watched the small town from its perch on the castle roof. Its gray fur was ruffled by the breeze, the cloak engulfing its body blowing like a standard in the wind. From inside the shadows of the hood on the cloak, the wolf's green eyes glinted.

Shadow, a large wolf hybrid, was asleep on the rooftop of one of the pubs, the ash-gray tone of his coat blending in surprisingly well with the roofing; his five foot long tail swished slowly back and forth as he slept, unconcerned with anything around him.

bic: The cloaked wolf stared at the large red wolf, swinging on the flagpole and into the castle through a window. Keeping to the shadows, it slunk through the corridors, stopping in front of a large and magnificent door. The cloaked one put one huge black ear against the door and listened to the conversation inside.

Shadow perked his ears up when he heard the flagpole's low buzz from the weight on it earlier. He rolled onto his belly, yawned widely and looked around; he saw a lit window a yard or so above him, right under the pole in question. He thought for a moment, remembering that this window belonged to a castle; his stomach growled softly, and he decided that maybe he could sneak in to try and steal some food. Bracing himself for a few moments, he leapt up, managing to get the first half of his body through the window, leaving his back half dangling outside.
