Cool Wolf Facts? *Competition! ;)*

Just thought I needed to put something here to kick start the 'General Wolves' board.

So, if anyone finds any unusual or interesting facts about anything wolves, post it here! =D I'm going to turn it into a competition; I'll give you all till Monday, April 20th- whoever gets the most *INTERESTING or UNUSUAL* facts, photos, or anything else that pertains to wolves, wins an avatar request from me! You can request a drawing or graphic of your choice [I must approve it though ;P ] Also, I [along with the help of my wonderful admins =3] will choose the five most awesome facts/photos/other to be entered into our new member Private Message,so when a new member joins, they get to see your stuff!

OK, I gotta think more 'bout this... only got 1 thing.

According to Roman legend, the city of Rome was founded by a man named Romulus, who had a brother named Remus who he killed (long story, not going into it here). But, before all this, when they were young, a female wolf found them and raised them, letting the two of them suckle milk from her.
There was also a bronze statue of these two created, which can still be seen in Rome.

Dunno if this counts, so yeah.

Here's a fact or two:

Beta wolves are wolves in the pack that are second in command, and are usually close kin to the alpha; possibly being a sibling.

If a wolf is not a family member, they are usually the lowest ranking wolf in the pack, called an omega wolf.

Wolves descended from the weasellike creature Miacis, that lived around 50 million years ago.

A wolf called a "disperser" is a lone wolf, which is rare.

Besides vocalizations, wolves use body posture and facial expressions to communicate with other wolves.

Many people view wolves as savage, evil beasts, but they are the complete opposite: shy, smart, and beautiful.

Red wolves are not actually pure wolves; they have been genetically proven to be a wolf/coyote hybrid breed.
