And fast it was. She began to trot faster and faster, fllowing the sent, and grew stronger. "It'll take us at least a day to cover 50 miles"

Shadow swore; "Well, how strong is the scent? The stronger it is, the faster we can go," he said.

After about 2 hours of travelin, they came across a frozen lake. Cinder smelt something, but she wasn't sure of the scent, but i twas dangerous.

Shadow looked down at the lake's surface; "Cinder... I suggest we keep away from the ice; my dad almost drowned in a lake like this," he said nervously.

"Shoot, this lake is HUUUUUGE. It would take us ages to go around! Lt's just hope for the best and walk over it........" she put one paw on it, and heard a rustle. Her ears pointed in alarm. "Shadow, did you hear that....?"

Shadow's ears pointed as well; "Come on, let's get going!" he said in an urgent whisper, placing his front paws experimentally on the ice; luckily, the ice was extremely thick, so their weight would not be a problem.

Cinder immeditaly saw the black mass of a bear! She scurried on the ice, trying to make a getaway, but it made her go on the icemore. Suprised by the noise, the bear turned and gained in on them.
Cinder was hysterical. She's hhad some bad experiences with bears. The bear stomped the ice as it walked towards her, cracking it. "SHAODW!!!!! RUUUUUN!!! LEAVE ME!!! SAVE YOURSELF!!!" she screamed as the bear grabbed her and held her to it's mouth, showing it's teeth that were as tall as her. The ice was cracking and braking under the extreme weight.

Shadow snarled, bolting towards the bear and latching his sharp fangs around its throat, biting down as hard as he could; his weight was just enough to make the bear stagger off of the ice and fall on its back in the snow.

Cinder was very amazed at Shadow's junp, this bear is 500x bigger than her! Then again Shadow was pretty large. The bear roared in her face and the bear quickly put her in it's mouth before it fell.

Shadow yelled in protest at the bear's actions, and did the only thing he could do to make it release Cinder; he relinquished his bit, only to dig his lower canine teeth straight into the bear's eyes.

Cinder screamed at the spit teeth and mostoruos tounge, then a huge roar came from it's thorat, almost deafening, and opened it's mouth. Cinder jumped out, but unaware of the broken ice. She fell straight threw the ice into the water.

Shadow leapt from the bear to go help Cinder; the bear, roaring in pain from its gouged eyes, stumbled blindly away into the forest. Shadow ran towards the hole in the ice, just managing to fish Cinder out of the water, hoisting her on his back, and running to the other side of the lake.
