Shadow slept quite soundly, much more than the first time; he had the feeling that he could get a good few hours of sleep this time.

After what seemed like too long a time, Shadow woke up; "Wh... how long have I been out?" he asked out loud, unsure of whether anyone even heard him.

The bear and her family had gone hunting, so Shadow was by himself.

After a few more hours of walking, it had become dark "Hey, Cinder." Makita piped out "I know a great place with shelter and warmth. It'll be prefect for the night!! It's not far, too!" "Goood..... " Cinder mumbled "I'm so very tired I can hardly keep my eyes open!"

lol that's how i feel right now. It's midnight! :O

Shadow tested his leg when he found that he could move again; it was still sore when he tried to put weight on it, but he was now able to stand and walk. He took a while, but he was able to limp out of the cave, feeling regretful that he couldn't offer any more thanks for the way the bears had taken care of him, but he had to make sure Cinder was okay.

Soon they had gotten to the cave. I was very warm indeed, and Cinder made herself comfortable in a dark corner. Makita was at the entrance, looking on. "Do you want to sleep?" Cinder yelled "No, better keep watch." she replied.

Shadow had gotten out of the den, but he needed a while to rest; moving on only three legs was really hard for him. He took a moment to observe his surroundings, then he detected Cinder's faint scent, which he followed slowly and painfully.

Cinder was fast asleep, she trusted Makita that everything will be fine.

Shadow was limping through the snow; he was so determined to find Cinder that he didn't care about the other wolf's scent that he had noticed accompanying hers.

Cinder was still in peaceful sleep but Makita smelled an unfamiliar smell.

Shadow limped through the snow calling Cinder's name, unsure of whether she was out here, or maybe she had gone back to Nome where it was safe.

Mkita still smelled the sent, and it was becoming stronger, and then she heard "inderar! inderar!" and her sleepiness took over, she fell asleep.

Shadow collapsed with exhaustion some one-hundred feet away from the mouth of the cave where Cinder and Makita were sheltered, but he was unaware of their presence there. He was too tired to move another inch, so he fell asleep in the snow. Snow was constantly falling on him, covering patches of his fur with white, but his fur was so warm that it would melt after a while, meaning that he would not be buried by the snow.

Soon Makita realized that she was sleeping, she forced herself awake and saw a red lump in the snow, not to far from the cave. She walked towards it and sniffed it, it seemed sickly and cold. Makita was a very strong wolf, so she dragged the helpless bundle into the cave

Shadow was still fast asleep, unaware of how the snow had sapped him of his strength; he was practically frozen solid, lots of his fur iced over from melting the snow with its heat, then the snow freezing again later on.
