Cinderstar was walking aimlessly by herself in the forest until suddenly she saw a poor Red and gray wolf being tortured by animals chewing his tail off.

Shadow was spinning around in a panic, hoping that his momentum would throw the animals off. A pack of coyotes had ambushed him, gnawing at his tail, savaging it. Unluckily for him, his spinning just made them clamp onto his tail harder, their jaws as strong as pitbulls. Another coyote was biting his rump, and yet another was ravaging the base of his tail. One of them was causing blood to flow from his tail; "let go of me, I didn't do anything to you!!!" he yelped, tears streaming down his face. It was no use; the taste of blood further inspired the coyotes to savage him; once Shadow was forced to stop spinning, another bit down hard onto the tip of his tail and began pulling ferociously at it.

Cinderstar couldn't beleive her eyes!!! Why where they chewing his tail so vicously?! Without thinking, she leaped onto the coyotes, ad made them loosen thier grip on Shadow's tail before scaring them off with her fierce mint-green eyes and her powerful strengh. Not to mention her growl and bite. As soon as the coyotes where gone, she helped Shadow up, licking the blood off his wound. "Are you okay??!!" she screamed.

Shadow was gasping for breath, tears still flowing down his cheeks; "Uh, I don't know," he said, twitching his tail in pain; it hurt when Cinder was licking the blood off of a gash on his tail caused by the coyotes, which felt like it may be nearly half a foot long; however, since she had saved him, Shadow did not object. Instead, he laid down onto his stomach, curled his body up almost into a ball, and began to sob, both in pain and sadness for being attacked without provoking anyone.

"Oh you poor thing!!" cinderstar exclamed. "why where they chewing your tail, anyway? I beleive you that you did nothing to make them attack you." Cinderstar put her paw gently on his shoulder.

Shadow managed to stop himself from sobbing, although tears still flowed down his cheeks and his voice was breaking as he spoke; "Well *sniff* my tail has a good taste, but I don't see why a bunch of dogs that prefer carrion and garbage would want to eat a tail that tastes like cookies," he said sadly. He put his paw slightly over his muzzle, which had also been slashed open during the attack; the gash on his tail was still bleeding, a small puddle of blood forming and matting the fur on his tail.

"Oh dear, when did it start tasting like cookies?!" Cinder demanded. "Oh and by the way I'm Cinderstar. I gotta do something about all this blood, too"

"I have no clue; a friend of mine discovered it about three months ago, so it may have been like this all my life..." he said, for once not laughing about his tail's taste. "My name is Shadow," he said, pawing at his bleeding muzzle; "Thanks for saving me, Cinderstar," he said, trying to force himself to smile, but he could not.

"Now, I have no clue on that," he said; "A bunch of different parts of my body actually taste like human foods; care to hear them?" he asked, a slight chuckle coming to him for the first time.

Shadow finally found it in him to smile; "Well, apparently my ears taste like brownies, my paws taste like pizza, my muzzle tastes like cake, my rump and flanks taste like vanilla ice cream, and you already know about my tail," he said with a halfhearted chuckle; he glanced back to see the small pool of blood coming from his tail, matting his fur.

Cinderstar looked at himm in amazment, but didn't say anything. "We gotta get something for these wounds...."
