HOUSE PARTY!!! LET'S BOOGIE!!!

Shadow stared at Shade dancing; "Anytime you're ready to lend a paw, my tail's stuck and I can't reach it," he whispered so that Shade didn't hear.

Shade, still dancing, thought hard about the trash can and managed to lift it from Shadow's tail in a moment. As soon as Shadow's tail was clear, Shade sent the trash can crashing to the floor.

To his surprise, Shadow was able to get back onto his hind legs fairly easily. "Thanks, Shade," he said, not sure if she was paying attention, as she was dancing again.

"Yup. Now get your butt over here!" Was all Shade could manage before the song changed again.

Shadow's ears went back at the tone of Shade's voice, but he obeyed and walked over to where she was dancing. There was a marble pillar nearby; Shadow want and leaned against it so that his backside was facing Shade. It provided him some support to stand, and he really couldn't think of anything better to do.

Shade saw Shadow and frowned. She closed her eyes and sent out the order to the record player. It immediately stopped playing the song and it changed.

Shadow's ears perked up at this song; he liked these styles of music more, but he remained where he was. He mainly was there because he did not know how to dance, and he felt stupid on the dance floor doing nothing but swishing his tail. He was oblivious to Shade tiptoeing over to him, mischief in her eyes.

We really need a bucketheaded mittens smily. Anyway, yep. I have a new pretty song to play next.

Okay, so it isnt exactly pretty. But, it hits home.

ooc: I remember it.

bic: Shade looked at Shadow as the older music came on. She went over to the other side of the floor, the side across the floor from where Shadow was, and sat in a chair. She leaned against the wall, pulling her hood up and murmering the lyrics of the playing song under her breath.

ooc: wow, for someone who has a thing for Shadow, she's really avoiding flirting with him oO

bic: Shadow could faintly hear Shade, and knew that she had stopped dancing; he hated when he ended up ruining somebody else's fun. He walked over to Shade, a guilty expression on his face; "Shade?" he murmured when he reached her.

Shade looked up at Shadow, her expression unreadable. "Huh?"

Shadow blushed, but in a different fashion; his tail was no longer swishing along to the music. "I'm sorry I'm ruining your fun," he said pitifully; "I'm thinking to much about my own interests; that's sort of why I didn't want to dance. I don't know how, but I also was just too afraid of looking like a fool," he said, a small tear welling in his eye from his shame.

"Hey,now," Shade said softly, standing and wiping away Shadow`s tear before it fell, "I was expecting to much of you." She smiled and glanced at the record player. "If you didnt know how to dance, I could've taught you." Shade looked at the record player again as the song changed. She smiled inside as she recognized the song.

Shadow wasn't sure, but he thought that this next confession would make him cry even more: "I thought that you could teach me, but I was thinking too much for myself," he said, looking into Shade's eyes; "That's the one thing I hate about myself..." he whimpered, feeling almost positive that he was about to cry again.

Shade laughed a nervous laugh and said, "You dont think when you dance, Shadow." She blinked, moving closer and hold his paws in hers. "It comes from your heart, not your mind." Shade met Shadow's gaze evenly and intensely, her green eyes burning into his. "You dance from your soul."

Shadow forced a small grin as Shade said this; "Well, now that I'm not so selfish, can you... teach me to dance?" he asked, his voice still a bit of a whimper.

Shade smiled slightly, her eyes twinkling again, not like glowing, but happily twinkling. She said softly, "Slow dancing isnt something I can teach you. It's just something you do. Personally, I think slow dancing will be be something you learn quickly." Shade set the music in her mind and it began playing.
