"I didn't realize she wanted us to be together so badly; thank you for everything, Rikku," he whispered, his face moving closer to hers.

Rikku saw Shadow move closer, but couldnt find the words to say what she felt. "You have nothing to thank me for." SHe inched closer and rubbed her cheek against Shadow's.

Shadow's ear twitched; they had stopped in a position that made their ears press against each other; I suppose we both should thank Shade for this, he thought to himself, a single tear in his eye.

Rikku looked up at the ceiling, her eyes grateful. Thank you, Shade.

Shadow repeated her thoughts, then stepped back to look at Rikku again; "So, who else sleeps in this den?" he asked, seeing that there were a good few empty spaces.

"Uh..Sable. Sable, his mate Irene, Ari, Shade's mother Aubretia, JakJak and..." She shuffled her paws, to give Shadow some space, "Well, us."

Shadow relaxed; "I'm glad you didn't say 'Firefly'. Are any of her... friends here? I'm just curious; I don't think I'll mind too much if only one or two are in here."

"Probably. In the next den. Each cave has 5 dens. Sable's a sweetie to let us move in here. He's just like his mom." She sighed, her eyes staring at a far off memory.

Shadow tilted his head; "Move in? You mean, you didn't live here before?" he asked her.

"Nope." Rikku said, shaking her head, "I lived in the cave next door. In the third den, with my sister, my mother, and my dad. He was sent off to battle just a week before I was sent to find Shade."

Shadow lowered his head; "That's got to be hard, battling so much," he said; "So, why don't you live there anymore?"

"Nah. It's something you get used to after a while." Rikku said dismissively. "Anyways, we need to go see Sable. We're gonna stick with him for a while."

"Okay," said Shadow, walking next to her until they got to the hole of the den; "So, why don't you live in the next den anymore?" he asked, also wondering who should go through the den hole first.
