*laughs and launches into full out lope. Panting, I blink my bright yellow eyes to the German Shepard next to me. "Thanks..." I say, brushing my fur against hers. Smiling and laughing with joy and exhuberance, I slow my pawsteps to match hers. *

Panting, I smile at Saphire. I then look to the star-sprinkled sky and let out a howl. To the stars, the moon, and the world.

Smiling ear to ear, the white fur on my face shines in the starlight as I proudly lift my muzzle up to the sky. A haunting yet wonderful cry esapes it, joining that of my sister.
Well you know, not my blood sister--or could she be? We shared the same anatomy and the same wild instincts. Only differecne was the coat colors, and maybe she was more slender than me.
It srikes me--we were related, long down the bloodline. I smile, knowing that in my eyes, she wasnt just a great friend I called sister. According to the blood we shared, we were related. Related in many ways; joined at the heart in in spirit.
Love, friendship, and longing filled my howl. It felt good to release my emotions. Like the wolf I was.
And would always be.
Or so I thought.

My alto-sounding howl filled the sky. It flew around the stars and moon. It filled every cave, every crack, every ear.
I looked over to Saphire, my friend, my partner, my sister.
Oh, how I wished we were related. We had so much in common. No, we didn't have the same fur color but sometimes that occurs. It would be better that way. We would be stronger as one. If only.
My howl changed tone into that of a longing one. Why did the world have to be so unfair? Why did the humans destroy our home, kill our brothers and sisters? Why, oh, why...?

Our hearts joined together in agony and yearning for a better life, me and my companion howled to the sky, letting our sorry notes reaching the moon.
There is light, even in the darkest night, I thought. My special words of wisdom carried with me every pawstep.
Maybe this was true.
Maybe it wasnt.
Only time, only that endless cycle of moon and sun, could say.
So far, it hadn't spoken.

I stopped my haunting howling and lowered my muzzle to the ground. I looked to Saphire and smiled. I then put my curious nose to the ground and sniffed, every scent, from a mouse under the snow to an eagle's droppings, filled my nostrols and flashed up to my brain, singling out ever smell and identifying it. I turned to Saphire.

"Saph, we should find some food. I'm straving; we haven't eaten for two days. That buck was filling but it's all digested now," I said, my alto voice cutting the cold, crisp night air.

Nodding in agreement, (with my stomach also doing the same ;3) I padded away alongside her.
"What do ya think we'll get this time? I'm going for 1 grand this time, not one buck."(ooc:XD you have to say that's a good one. :B) my lips curled back as I laughed, showing my white canine teeth.
Now my stomach growled.
Wait, that was too loud to be my stomach....

My black canine lips pulled back to show my sharp white teeth and laughed.

"I don't know. We'll just have to s-" I froze when a heard a growl. But that defininately wasn't my stomach, or Saph's.
My sky-grey eyes traveled to meet Saph's yellow ones.

"Saph..." I whispered, then looked behind me.

Sucking in a quick breath before turning around, I stared up in shock.
A snarling, bloodspattered white wolf was baring her dripping white fangs at us. Her pupil had grown so large that it almost sent the gleaming green iris to the sidelines.
(ooc: I'll RP her, so...yip.)

I glared menacingly at the other wolf and her companion. Was that a dog?! First trespassing, then bringing a mangy DOG into my territory?!
"Get. OUT."I roared. The wolf's yellow eyes blazed with fear. I could tell she was scared. Not just scared though, but horrified. Why was she so afraid?!
Huh. Probably why everyone's scared of me. I only have one eye. Yeah, I know what you're thinking--oh, you only have one eye? EW! Well I don't give a--

"Who areyou?!" I said in my most menacing voice. Not very scary... Then the white wolf just scoffed and her one eye flashed in humor. How did she find this funny, harassing innocent bypassers? For crying out loud, we were just two lonley lupines trying to find a place to belong. No threat. She didnt' seem to notice this, unfortunatley.

"Who am I?! What kind of question is that, fleabag?! Well, I have a question for you-- Who do you think you ARE?! I mean, first trespassing into MY territory, which matter of fact, I worked really hard to GET." I spat the last word. A drop of blood-filled saliva hit her white nose fur. I chuckled. This was fun.
"And secondly", I continued, enjoying the confused look on both thier faces, "You bring that peice of crap dog-blood wit you?! What kind of wolf are you?!" I growled.

"A RESPECTful one! How dare you talk that crap about my sister!!!" I cried, and leaped upon that wolf's back and bit her ear like there was no tomorrow.

"OW! You--"I stopped myself, not wanting to spread my love of profanity around. I could spare that for when they were dead and I was kicking cold, hard dirt over thier torn bodies.

Like there was no tomorrow... I heard the brown and white wolf think as she bit my ear.
"There won't BE a tormorrow for you, DOG!" I yelled, twisting my head around to clip her shoulder. I loved to hear that cry of pain escaping from her muzzle.
Oh, and yeah, that's my freakin 'gift' I have--I can read minds.

Post  Moonstar Sun Feb 08, 2009 2:35 pm

When I turned around to face a blood-thirsty-looking white wolf with one eye, my own eyes widened in terror. My belly began to sink lower to the ground and I pinned my ears back in submission. I hated doing this, but this is what you have to do. Submit. Cower down.
But as the wolf spat out meaner and meaner curses at us, I felt my belly rise back up to my normal height. Then Saph lept at the white wolf. For a few seconds I watched as Saph fought the wolf. Then, as the wolf ripped at Saphire's neck, I felt that long-hidden and distant wolf in me leap out.
Now watch this piece of crap whip your furry butt! my head cried, and I lept at the white wolf. I latched onto her neck fur, not able to let go. I snarled and thrashed as hard as I could.

Post  Saphire Sun Feb 08, 2009 2:52 pm

I was now infested with these mangy pests. "Sorry excuses for wolves you two are, in my book at least!" I growled, shoving the yellow-eyed wolf of. Then came that dog. Ugh. I shuddered at the thought that it was touching me.
"Get off me, you bi--" my breath was flat out knocked from my body. Then I saw a black haze decend on me. Huh. It's funny, cause the wolf, who was called 'Saph' or whatever, thought she'd knocked me out. Yeah right. 'twas really one of those stupid fainting spells I had. Came from not getting enough calories. 'cuz usually I only licked the blood out of all those pitiful animals I killed. Never saw any point to wearing myself out eating and tugging at thier freakin flesh all day. I'd rather kill to kill than kill to eat.
Well, I thought dizzily, I'll track those freakin dogs down. And I'll make sure they're dead as a doorknob. Whatever a doorknob was.

So after I'd knocked her out with a kick to the stomach, me and my sister fled. Our paws drummed over the hard earth, making only slight imprints. Panting and in pain from the blood dripping down my side, I was limping alongside her when she saw just how bad that wound of mine was. That one eyed mange-fur had given me this, and I swore to myself that I'd get revenge on her.
That was, after we rested.
And maybe got away from the hunter that'd stepped right in front of us.

(ooc: man, this is so fun. I'm enjoying these two! XD)

(OOC: Yeah, it is!)

"Whoo!" I barked, running after Saph. I smiled at her as we fled the killer, but I frowned when I saw her side dripping with blood. I whimpered; I could feel her pain, somehow. I looked straight again, and yelped. Human! I slid to a stop right in front of him, my eyes bulging and mouth hanging open.

My yellow eyes stared down the long tube of metal pointed at me. The man's fingers clicked something, and I knew it was bad. I whispered out of teh side of my mouth, "Run on the count of three, split up..."
Still staring straight ahead, I counted to three. "One..two...THREE!" I yelped, and as soon as we dispersed, a loud crack split the silence.

My eyes widened at the long tube staring straight down at us. My mother always warned me about these things... the stick that blasted a tiny rock out, and it could kill you.

I heard Suni speak, and I nodded, mostly to myself.

When I heard "THREE!", I leaped out to the left. I heard the loud BANG!, and was reliefed to see that Suni was on the other side of the human. I looked straight ahead again, my paws loping in a single rythem, with my heart.

Thump, thump. Thump, thump. Thump, thump.

The forest sped by as I raced for saftey. Then it hit me--no, not the thought that Moonstar might not be OK, but...a pain. The sharpest, hardest pain you'd ever feel.
Crimson liquid gushed from that hole in my side. I never knew how damaging such a small wound could be.
I flung myself to the ground, and cried silently out in pain.

All I had to do is wait for the man to come and...finish me. For taht I'd be glad. This pain was ubeara...unb...uhhh.....

"Suni!"

My heartbreaking yelp split the night air as I saw my best friend laying upon the ground.

I galloped over to her. I sniffed her white-furred snout and sighed. She was still alive.

"Suni?" I whimpered quietly and nuzzled her snout.

Faintly, maybe, I dont' know if it was my mind or not, but I thought I heard a voice...calling my name...
I tried to open my mouth, but it wouldn't.
The pain was just too real. Agony gripped its cruel claws around my body, my soul, and I jsut wanted it to be over. I couldn't imagine anything beyond this.

I was dimly councious but barely...
Please, Moon, save..me.......

I growled and tugged on Suni's ear. There has got to be something in there!

"Suni, wake up!" I cried. I didn't care if I was hurting her; she just had to give me some sort of sign that she was in there...

A new but subtle pain hit me.
My ....ear?
Had that got shot too?
no,there were many pricks in it...teeth?
Moonstar! She was here!
I gathered all last fibers of strength I had and murmured, "sister..."
barley audible but enough...I hoped...

I sighed with relief as Suni finally murmered something. I hadn't understood her, but it was something.

"Gosh, Suni. Don't even do that again!" I said and nuzzled her again. I looked around and sniffed. The human was no where nearby, and neither was that evil wolf. For now.

Now what do I do? I thought. I definately couldn't leave Suni here. I lifted my head to the sky and howled. Hopefully some canine cousin would hear me.

I then lay down next to Suni, brushing my warm, brown and black fur next to hers.

"Stay with me, Suni," I whispered.

That night was long, and I drifted in and out of conciousness. I don't know when she did, but Moonstar brought food....

Suddenly I opened my eyes and bright light streamed into them. I winced and closed them again. But it was warm--morning!
I'd survived through the night!

But I had a loooong way to go...

I lay awake that night, going out for food, getting water, licking Suni's muzzle; I had to stay awake to make sure everything was ok. The next morning, I was tired, and my eyelids were heavy, but Suni opened her eyes! I almost yelped with happiness and licked her muzzle.

I knew Suni, my friend, my sister, was ok. She had to be. But what now?

I stood up and shook, knocking the sleep out of my eyes and legs. I trotted over to the stream nearby and took a huge gulp of water, carried it back, and dribbled a few drops onto Suni's snout.

My throat contracted and swallowed drops of water even without my trying. My parched body seemed to perk just a bit as the liquid slid down to my stomach. It was inviting and I wanted more.
Suddenly, a growl from my belly and I knew I was hungry. Then...my shoulder, a volcano of pain; erupting into shocks and waves of agony.
I yelped out, I couldn't stand this any more. I wished that it could be over; I wished that the one eyed wolf would just turn up and finish it...

Trying to purse my lips together and say something, I couldn't.

Then, all was dark. I was swimming in a sea of empty waters, I was dry yet wet at the same time. Crimson light shone all around; was that...blood? I blinked and looked down at my paws. They weren't there.
Lifting a paw up, I felt it though couldn't see it. What was happening? Where was I?

Then a voice, louder than the earth. MOONSTAR!
"Moon! Moon, are you there? Can you hear me? Please, help me!" I started running, forever, heading towards the voice. Was this death? Was it pain? What WAS this? I was confused. So VERY confused. WHAT WAS HAPPENING?!

(OOC: meanwhile, Suni's still laying there, but she's unconcious; but her legs are moving like she's running and she's talking. What she's experiencing is a dream, sent by the one eyed wolf; you'll see later Razz )

My eyes widened as Suni began to twitch, running in her sleep, and yelping my name. I bent over and pushed my snout into her bushy brown neck fur.

"Suni, Suni, I'm here, it's ok," I said, trying to sound enthusiastic. But it was hard... would Suni ever wake from her seemingly endless, terrifying nightmare?

"Moon! Moon!! Mo..." I broke into sobs, this terror never ending. I was in reach of her yet I wasn't.
How to escape? Where was I?

"Told you I'd get revenge." I laughed heartily at the injured wolf, her yellow eyes dull with pain and desperation. It was pathetic.

I whipped my head around and saw that...monster. WHAT was SHE doing? "What...what do you mean?" I growled the best I could.

"You've not figured it out, dog? Hah...this is all /my/ doing. I'M sending this dream, this NIGHTMARE, to your mind. You can't escape, not EVER, until I decide it. And...quite frankly, I don't like /dogs/ who /intrude/ on /my/ territory...so..."I laughed and flashed my yellow, bloodstained grin, "I don't think I'm going any where for a lonnng, long time. Only way you can be saved is if your crapfur of a pal dog can come and find me, in the flesh. and KILL me. Like THAT'S ever gunna happen..." I chuckled, proud of myself. Wow...this was so easy.

Fear clawed my heart. I was helpless. Never to escape. Was this...my fate...?
Moonstar. She could save me.
...could she?
