Re: The Quest of Self-Discovery - Moonstar/tatsu-okami
Shana nodded to him, then looked back at me.
"Why are you back so soon from your trip?"
"Journey of self-discovery, Mom. Well, one thing happened after another, and... well, I think we should all talk, and Dad too."
My mother squinted in suspicion but nodded, twitching her tail before walking towards her and my father's den.
"Follow me," I said to Shadow, and followed my mother. But suddenly one of Snowdrop and Shade's pups ran up to Shadow's rear-end and gave it a lick. I dropped my jaw in horror.
"Hey, you! What do you think you're doing?!" I barked sharply, bumping him with my nose.
"It's just... his tail smells so good, and I thought..."
"What? That it would taste the same? Go on, go home," I said, nudging him away. He tumbled away, yipping in delight. I turned to Shadow with a frown on my face. "I'm so sorry. Has that ever happened before?"

Re: The Quest of Self-Discovery - Moonstar/tatsu-okami
I was a little wide-eyed about the lick under my tail, but was still able to give an answer; "Uhh, no, I can't say it has before; I'm not surprised that someone did it, though," I said, trying to maintain my composure.
(lol, when he's sleeping, maybe if there's a playful older wolf, they could bite him on the butt or something XD Oh, that would be a great picture!! xDDD )

Re: The Quest of Self-Discovery - Moonstar/tatsu-okami
"Oh, ok," I said, a little embarrassed. I led Shadow into my parents' den, and immediately smelled my father.
"Dad!" I barked!
"Moon!" a rough voice said, and my father's front leg was over me, pulling me close to him. I smiled and nuzzled him, then pulled away.
"Dad, we need to talk." He tilted his his head, confused and a little hurt by my break-away, but he nodded.
"Well, then, have a seat, and--who's this?"
"Oh, this is Shadow, a friend. Shadow, this is my father, Stormgaze," I explained, a little tired of introductions. My father dipped his head to Shadow.
"Hey, kid. I guess my daughter can make friends with anyone, eh?" I rolled my eyes.

I dipped my head in response as well; I hoped that there was nothing bad happening with Moonstar at the moment.
(I really hope nothing bad happens D: )

Re: The Quest of Self-Discovery - Moonstar/tatsu-okami
(OOC: Oh, no. Just the whole evil wolf pack problem. )
I motioned to Shadow with my tail to follow me into my family's den. I breathed in deeply, taking in the homely scents of shared blood once again. I sat down near my nest and patted the ground near me for Shadow to sit. My father and mother sat in front of me, and my father opened his mouth to beak, but was interrupted by puppy-like yipping.
"Moonstar!" Suddenly my brother ran in. Almost twice my size, with blondish fur and white paws, Sunshot rammed into me, instantly knocking me over -- and my breath.
"Sunshot, off!" I growled, annoyed. My brother grinned and stepped up. You could immediately tell something was wrong with him. He stared for too long, was very quiet, and could not hunt or fight on his own. He would always be destined for help around the camp. But, he was loved by everyone. He happily layed down next to me, so I sighed and began rubbing his belly fur with my paw, staring at my parents.

Re: The Quest of Self-Discovery - Moonstar/tatsu-okami
I chuckled a little bit at Moonstar's brother's enthusiasm. I jumped for a second when I felt a cold nose pressing under my tail; it was a female wolf about Moonstar's size sniffing me with great interest.
Re: The Quest of Self-Discovery - Moonstar/tatsu-okami
"Who's this, Moon?" the she-wolf asked. I grinned.
"Leafsplash!" I barked, running over to tackle and lick her. Leafsplash was quite the pretty wolf, with reddish-orangish fur and soft yellow eyes. She laughed and licked me back, her fluffy tail wagging ferociously. I recovered my dignity and stepped up, smiling.
"This is Shadow, my friend," I said. Leafsplash grinned at Shadow.
"Hi there," she said sweetly.

Re: The Quest of Self-Discovery - Moonstar/tatsu-okami
I blushed a little bit as I muttered a greeting in return to Leafsplash; I had a feeling that I knew why she had been sniffing so enthusiastically a moment ago.
Re: The Quest of Self-Discovery - Moonstar/tatsu-okami
Leafsplash giggled.
"I'm so sorry, your tail smelled delicious and... well, I wondered where the scent came from." I covered my eyes with my paw, a little embarrassed by my friend.

Re: The Quest of Self-Discovery - Moonstar/tatsu-okami
I blushed a little more when I heard Leafsplash's reasoning behind the sniff; "Heh, that makes you the second one to do that; I have the feeling you're not the last, either..." I said with a bit of embarrassment in my voice.
Re: The Quest of Self-Discovery - Moonstar/tatsu-okami
Leafsplash giggled, and I heard my father clear his throat. I turned to him and sat down.
So I begun to tell the story: how I met Shadow, staying with his family, and meeting the pack who wished death on me. My parents' eyes widened with horror, though Sunshot understood none of it, only playing with a leaf at the side of the cave. Leafsplash pressed against my side whenever I shivered, and I took comfort in her forest scent. My father sighed when I finished.
"I don't understand; why do they want to kill you? Only because you're half-dog?" I shrugged.
"I guess, but that would mean they want death on Shadow, here, too, since he's half-dog." My mother leaned forward to nuzzle my head.
"You two need to stay here for now. Our pack will protect you, Shadow," she said, nodding to him. Leafsplash jumped up.
"Nobody calls Moon a worthless mutt. I'm gonna kick his rear-end to the moon when he gets here." Though I smiled at my friend's protectiveness of me, I shivered from the thought of her trying to take down the lead wolf. My father sighed.
"Well, it's getting late. Shadow, we have another cave next to ours. You can stay there." I stood up.
"I'll stay with him."
"And me too!" Leafsplash barked. I grinned at Shadow apolegetically. It seemed he would have to deal with two females near him for now.

Re: The Quest of Self-Discovery - Moonstar/tatsu-okami
I thought to myself as Moon was telling her story; "They probably had nothing against you, Moon; I think those wolves were just scavengers trying to get any prey that they could get their paws on," I said warmly. I had felt a blush creep over my face when Leafsplash expressed her desire to sleep in the same den as me.
Re: The Quest of Self-Discovery - Moonstar/tatsu-okami
I smiled at Shadow, glad he was trying to reassure me. My father chuckled.
"Well, go on, get to bed," he said. I motioned to Shadow and Leafsplash to follow me. We walked around to the other den. I made a nest of some leaves and plopped down, sighing.
"I think I could sleep for a month," I murmured. Leafsplash didn't seem very tired. She wagged her tail.
"Ah, come on, Moon, it's time to celebrate! You're home!" I laughed.
"Not tonight, Leaf. Go to bed." Grumbling, Leafsplash turned in circles to plop down near me. I smiled at Shadow. "Here, over here," I said, patting the ground on my mother side.

Re: The Quest of Self-Discovery - Moonstar/tatsu-okami
I laughed at Leafsplash's hyper nature and walked over to Moon's other side, flopping over and laying on my back with my paw pads facing the ceiling.
Re: The Quest of Self-Discovery - Moonstar/tatsu-okami
I smiled at Shadow.
"So, what do ya think of my pack?" I asked. Leafsplash groaned.
"Well, I think it's boring," she said, but smiled to show she was joking. I rolled my eyes and looked back to Shadow.

Re: The Quest of Self-Discovery - Moonstar/tatsu-okami
I laughed at the question; "So far, it looks like fun," I said as I playfully stuck my paw over and pawed at Leafsplash's snout; I completely forgot the possibility that she might catch the delicious aroma of my paw pads.
Re: The Quest of Self-Discovery - Moonstar/tatsu-okami
Leafsplash's eyes widened and she sat up.
"What is with your scent?! It's amazing!" she said. I rolled my eyes.
"Yeah, Shadow smells like cookies," I said.

Re: The Quest of Self-Discovery - Moonstar/tatsu-okami
I laughed at Leafsplash's reaction, but started laughing more as her tongue began sliding in between my paw pads as she tasted them; "I dunno, I just seem to smell and taste good," I said while I laughed.
Re: The Quest of Self-Discovery - Moonstar/tatsu-okami
Leafsplash's yellow eyes glowed with amazement.
"They're... they're... wow, they taste amazing!" she said between licks. I sighed and rolled my eyes again, letting her know that she was embarrassing me. But she ignored me and kept licking Shadow's paws. I grinned apologetically to Shadow.

Re: The Quest of Self-Discovery - Moonstar/tatsu-okami
I was barely able to tell Moon that it was okay over my laughing; Leafsplash's tongue tickled so much! As I laughed, my tail flew up and down in the air, eventually landing on top of Moon's head.
Re: The Quest of Self-Discovery - Moonstar/tatsu-okami
As Shadow's tail landed on my head, I decided to join in the fun and grabbed Shadow's tail in my paws, holding it close and breathing in its delicious scent. I then gave it a lick, wagging my tail.
Re: The Quest of Self-Discovery - Moonstar/tatsu-okami
I laughed as my tail and paw were nommed by the two girls; I doubted that they would want to sleep anytimee soon.
Re: The Quest of Self-Discovery - Moonstar/tatsu-okami
Leafsplash finally stopped licking Shadow's paws and stood up, her eyes wide.
"So, where can I find these 'cookies'?" she asked. I rolled my eyes, Shadow's tail still in my paws.
"Humans eat them. And I doubt you wanna go near them." Leafsplash nodded at my words.
"Yeah, I'd rather sit her and lick Shadow's paws," she said, grinning at Shadow.

Re: The Quest of Self-Discovery - Moonstar/tatsu-okami
I laughed; "Moon definitely doesn't like humans," I said, tears welling in my eyes from laughing so hard due to the licks to my paw.
Re: The Quest of Self-Discovery - Moonstar/tatsu-okami
I nodded.
"You got that right. Though, I guess I should like them a little; a few raised my mother, after all," I said, thinking. But humans were strange, unpredictable creatures. Some helped them. Some hunted them. Why couldn't they all agree on the same thing? Leafsplash's voice brought me back.
"Well, I did see a couple of little humans playing outside one time near the Town. They made noises and were throwing some kind of round thing between them. For some reason I wanted to go over there and take the ball."
