HOUSE PARTY!!! LET'S BOOGIE!!!

Shade still stood still, her eyes closed. Rikku and Capitan bursted through the bushes and stood, mouths agape at the strange scene before them. Rikku looked at the leaves, twigs and stones floating around them. Capitan poked a stone and watched it fly away. The pair looked at each other, then Rikku padded forward, her ears flat against her head. SHe stood behind SHade now, her voice alive with fear. "Namine?" Shade whirled around with a snarl like a lion, her eyes still glowing white. Rikku stood her body quivering with terror. "Shade?" SHade's face didnt change. She whirled around, taking off into the darkness.

Shadow became more afraid than ever; he loved Shade, but she was starting to scare him. He turned around slowly, and tried to crawl away; his tail, which was now dragging behind him, caused the leaves on the ground to rustle loudly.

Rikku growled as SHade ran away, and took off after her. "Shade!" She ran as hard as she could, but she couldnt catch Shade. SHe didnt have to. Shade erupted from the trees, bowling Rikku over and standing in front of her, growling and looking more demon than dog. "Shade isnt here. I am Legion! For we are many!" And what was once SHade, now Legion, turned and sped away, dissappearing into the night.

Shadow was almost petrified at what he heard; Shade had changed into something, and he was glad that he didn't see what. He tried to crawl away even faster, his tail causing a great deal of noise (maybe Rikku ought to step on it to stop him XD ).

ooc: See ya tomorrow; I have to work, so I won't be on until around 8:15 or so

ooc: All righty, then.

Rikku heard Shadow trying to get away and her anger flared. SHe slammed a paw down on his tail to stop him. She glared at him and said acidly, "Where do you think youre going?"

Shadow yelped in pain as Rikku stomped on his tail; he made no motion to try and get away, but he was shivering again. "I don't know what to do; I love Shade, but I'm starting to get scared of her," he whimpered, straining his tail to try and remove it from under Rikku's paw.

Rikku growled, her voice dripping disgust, "You coward! You would leave SHade to fight this battle herself?" Rikku turned away, her face full of contempt, "Shade deserves better than a coward!" ANd she ran after Legion.

Shadow sniffled as he got up; "I am not a coward! SHADE, I'm coming!!!" he cried, running to catch up with Rikku and explain to her while they chased after Legion.

Rikku heard Shadow coming, and ran beside him. As night fell, Rikku stopped. She turned to Shadow calmly, "We need to stop for the night. Legion would be stronger at night." She looked around, her eyes not giving away any sort of emotion. "Creatures far worse than Wraiths hunt in these woods."

Shadow held back a shudder, sitting down on his haunches and panting from the long run; "So, what is Legion, exactly?" he asked hoarsely. After a moment, he added; "I'm sorry how I was back there, being scared like that; I've never seen anything like that before..." he confessed.

Rikku flicked her tail idly. "DOnt worry about it. Not many others have." She looked around, the sun falling rapidly out of sight. She nodded toward a high tree, and began climbing it. "Get up here. I'll tell you."

Shadow nodded, jumping up the branches with agility that was surprising for his size. He perched on a branch next to Rikku; "Wow, what a place to sleep," he thought aloud; "So, what is Legion, exactly?"

Rikku took a deep breath, the breeze ruffling her thick fur as she watched the sun go down. "Legion...is a demon, of sorts. It's the evil in Shade. Legion has always been there, controlled by what Shade calls The Voice. The Voice is actually a field of psychic barriers, that kept Legion caged in the deepest parts of Shade's mind. When those imps attacked, Legion, the demon within Shade, broke free of the psychic barriers that our healer, Meadow, set up when Shade was a pup. Now its free and using SHade's body as a host, so it can do Malefor's bidding. Then, when it has no more use for her, or finds a better host..." Rikku's voice trailed off, not needing to say much more.

Shadow gasped; "There's no way to get rid of it?" he asked shakily; he did not want Shade to be killed by this... thing. He was also a little eager to hear what else lay in this forest that made it unsafe to move at night.

Rikku sighed, "None that come to mind. There are only two possible outcomes and in both..." Rikku took a shaky breath, looking at her paws, "Shade dies. There's no stopping it."

Shadow felt tears sliding down his face again; he did not want to talk about this anymore. He hoped to change the subject; "So, you said it wasn't safe to wander the forest grounds at night; what comes out at night that is so dangerous?" he asked throatily. His tail was hanging off of the branch he had perched on; he was oblivious to this fact, but Rikku and anything else could easily see it.

Rikku looked and saw Shadow's tail and hissed, "Pull that thing up, moron! Unless you want to lose it!" She looked around, "It's said that Malefor himself occasionally walks in these woods. We must not be seen."

Shadow looked down to see his tail, and whisked it up with great speed, placing it under his front paws; "Well, I definitely don't want to lose my tail... So, who is this Malefor that I always am hearing about?" he asked.

Rikku scoffed, "What, have you been living in a hole?" She shook her head and growled, "Malefor is the God of Hell. The King of all demons, and that's not all. They say he's one of the Ancients."
