Rikku heard what Shadow said and frowned. "It's something you get used to. Fighting a war dosnt leave much time for rest."

Shadow pinned his ears back when she brought war up; "I'm a good fighter, but I rarely want to fight," he said, his tail pressing against Rikku's pelt, almost in fear.

Rikku nodded. "Sooo..."

Shadow looked at her innocently; "So, I don't know how much of a help I'll be, even though I have to join your tribe," he said.

"Relax. After all this is over there wont be any fighting. For at least a decade."

Shadow smiled again; "That's good, fighting is such a horrible thing, especially on a scale like you describe," he said, looking happily at her.

"Yes. From the time pups are born, they are trained to fight. Even though the Calm is to be going on, no one knows who will be around to see the next Hellgod rise to power."

Shadow's smile faded again when she talked about the pups in their tribe; "That makes me glad that I can't have any pups," he said sadly.

Rikku looked at the sky and smiled. "It's only a matter of keeping them safe. They must learn to defend themselves." She sighed, "You should see the pups in the tribe, Shadow, they're beautiful. They always are."

Shadow lowered his ears; "I just don't want them to be pushed too hard; that's not how a pup should grow up, being pushed to fight or die," he thought out loud, bringing his tail closer around Rikku, so that its tip was covering her paws.

"They arent. They are only taught basics, then they figure the rest out as they go. They grow up, and if they are born in the midst of the war, they are trained throughout their youth. Then when they come of age, they are sent off to help fight off the army of the hellgod."

Shadow curled his tail closer to Rikku in fright; he decided not to pursue the subject any further.

Rikku felt Shadow's tail, and blushed a little.

ooc: I'm looking for liearts so I can do Shade's Tribe.

Shadow glanced over at Rikku and saw her blushing; "What is it?" he asked softly.

"Er-nothing." She said, and looked at the sky. The sun was coming up. She sighed, standing and jumping down the tree limb by limb.

Shadow watched her, wondering why she had blushed, before he followed her to the forest floor.

Rikku stretched, and turned to SHadow. "Well, let's go home."

Shadow stretched as well, arching his tail over his back to stretch it. "Okay, lead the way, and let me know if you get tired," he said warmly.

Rikku scoffed, and ran in the direction of the mountains.

bic: Shadow lowered his ears slightly when she scoffed at him, but he followed suit.

bic: Shadow ran alongside Rikku; due to his long legs, he did not have to push himself as much as she did.

Rikku knew that the camp was less than a days run away, if they didnt stop. Faces of the Tribe wolves flashed in her head. She started huming a song that she had learned from Shade.

Shadow's ears perked up at Rikku's humming; it was an interesting tune. He continued to run alongside her.

Rikku listened to the wind rush by her ears, and she sang softly, "Look for me at dawning, when the earth is asleep. Till each dewdrop is kissed by the day," She was about to continue, when a voice on the wind joined hers. "There beneath the rowan and alder a vigil I'll keep, every moment that you are away..." Rikku smiled slightly as the last notes died on the wind. Shade was still with them. As she would always be...
