"It's really getting cold!" cinder cried as she watched the sunset. "Is the barn warm?"

Shadow thought for a moment; "Well, there's a boiler room around here, too; it's nice and warm, and something funny happened there... right, Mom?" he said, grinning slyly as he looked at Jenna; she had told him about the trick she had played on Steele.

Shadow was starting to come down with a fit of giggles; "Mom... you tell her," he managed to squeak out without bursting into laughter.

Steele burnt his butt on the boiler door" Jenna said. I once did it too, but he gets fooled everytime!

Cinder looked at Shadow. "You mean little doggie!" she said sarcasticly.

Shadow collapsed to the ground with laughter; "He-he-he SO HAD IT COMING!!!" he howled, rolling on his back and kicking his back legs with laughter.

Shadow muttered an embarrassed apology to Jenna, and trotted after Cinder; "Hey Cinder, do you mind if we go to the boiler room instead?" he asked, a blush on his face again.

Cinder relaxed her shoulders and said. "Ok. But don't get any ideas!" and she trotted to the room.

"Thanks..." she said and dropped on the floor and immediatly fell asleep.

naww XD There's different "branches" of his life after a certain point; Cinder is his mate in one branch, Cami in another branch, and so on ^^

it's pretty tough to explain XD The only other way I can think to describe it is like: In the branch where he and Cinder are mates, Shadow hasn't met Cami, Shade or the others... yeah, it's pretty weird XDD I think one of the most interesting ones is where his mate is a wolfdog named Echo.

the next morning, Cinder woke up. Shadow was still sleeping, so she burried her nose in his chest.

After a while, dogs started clawing and barking at the door. Cinder ignored it and engulfed her head in Shadow's body.

Shadow finally woke up from the noise; after smiling at Cinder, he let out a long low howl. Balto could be heard outside telling the dogs to clear off before nosing the door open. They smiled warmly at each other, and Balto closed the door, telling the dogs to stay away from the area for the time being.
