As he walked, Shadow scolded himself for getting worked up like that; he was starting to unknowingly turn everything he did against himself.

Makita sened Shadow was wrong, but she didn't know what to do.

What does it mean "She sensed he was wrong"?

Shadow noticed that he was lagging behind a bit, so he sped up and regained his position next to Cinder and Makita, staying a bit closer to Makita, as Cinder was starting to make him distressed.

Makita kinda disregarded Shadow for being so close to her, and said nothing but lowered her head. She really hated to be in the middle of a rocky relashionship

Shadow continued to walk, occasionally glancing over to either of them to make sure he was not bothering them any more than earlier.

Finally after many more hours of walking, they came upon an old fox den. The scent was stale and old, so there was no one occupiang it. Cinder simply crawled in and layed down in the very back, immediatly falling asleep.

Shadow entered the den next, falling asleep towards one of the sides, a few feet away from Cinder.

Shadow had a hard time sleeping; he didn't toss or turn, but he woke up from time to time for reasons that he couldn't think of.

Makita saw Shadow become awake a lot, and asked "Maybe you should be away from Cinder for a while. Here, come up here."

Shadow blushed for a moment, then crawled over next to Makita; "I just hope this doesn't give off the wrong impression; she seems mad enough at me already. Still, thank you," he said softly, laying his head across his paws.

Shadow looked over at Makita; he smiled, and curled his tail around her, its amazing length shielding her entire body from the wind and snow. He looked over at Cinder, and made sure to shuffle a few inches away from Makita, but not enough to move his tail; this would make it look like he had just been trying to use it like normal, to cover his face when he slept.

Makita's eyes widened at the huge tail wrapped around her, but it sure was warm, and tasted like... cookies!!

Shadow chuckled as he watched Makita experimentally licking his tail; he watched for a few minutes, then fell asleep.

Cinder got up early. He was going to apologize to Shadow when she got up, after having a dream that they should always be happy together, til she saw him with Makita....

Shadow had tried to shift most of his body away from Makita whenever possible to avoid anything awkward; at the moment, his body was almost forming an L when related to his tail, with which Makita was snuggling for warmth.

Ha!! Shadow's not cuddling up to Makita, so Cinder can't prove any accusations she may have! >8D

Cinder looked at Shadow, then looked at Makita. "Makita!" she yelled.

Whh... hat? She said, and as soon as she saw the massive tail in front of her, she jumped away. "What the......? I actually SLEPT in that that food-smelling tail?!"

Shadow jumped almost a foot in the air, startled by the yells; "Oh God, what's happening?!" he yelped, thinking that something bad had happened.

lol, now Shadow has two dedicated sweets-lovers that he'll have to put up with XD
