When Cami woke up, Shadow wasn't awake yet, and she didn't dare wake him so she just looked at the sky. The sun was almost entirely gone, but the water was still and there was no wind. It was absouletly beautiful.

Shadow was dreaming, and his tail flicked around under Cami's head, tickling the underside of her jaw.

The feeling of Cami's under-jaw being stroked was amazingly soothing. As Shadow was still asleep and the sun was gone, Cami finally fell aslppe again hoping that Shadow wouldn't wake up immediatly.

Shadow, dreaming that he was sunning himself, rolled over onto his side, and felt Cami shift herself to lay up against his chest. He opened his eyes lazily, and feelings rushed back to him. He tried to look down, but found that he couldn't; Cami had pressed the top of her head against the underside of his jaw, so he simply let her be.

Shadow smiled at the feeling of Cami's head under his, and curled his tail around her so that it was a makeshift blanket for her.

Cami completely zoned out, and eventually fell asleep again. For the first time in a long time, she wasn't dreaming.

Shadow, with his tail almost completely hiding Cami from view, finally fell back asleep himself, his heartbeat almost like a lullaby for her.

For a few moments cami thought there was music playing, but she realized that it was her and Shadow's heartbeats. They sounded like they had timed themselves to be in sync with ech other. It was so sweet and romantic to Cami.

Shadow lazily opened his eyes once more to find Cami pressed up against him as hard as she was able to; he smiled at her, then positioned himself that his head was under hers.

When Shadow moved, Cami woke up for good, and couldn't seem to fall back to sleep. But she was totally relaxed.

Shadow smiled up at Cami; "Hey, you're awake! Anything you'd like to do now?" he asked, the tip of his tail wagging in her face.

Cami yawned, and slowly sat up. When Shadow said this, she smiled, and a small laugh came out. "nothing special that I want to do. What about you. So you have any good ideas again?" She looked at him and was still not worrying that there was almost no sun left that they could see.

Shadow thought for a moment; "Well, while we're here, I suppose I could catch another fish for us!" he said with a laugh.

That fish she had earlier tasted great, and sahe replied, "That would be nice, but i feel bad that I can't help. And isn't it dangerous to go out into the water when it is almost completely dark out? I do want you to be safe." She was worried for him.

Shadow was glad that she cared about him this much; "Well, I could just try fishing in the shallow water," he said.

Cami smiled back at him, glad that he didn't care and that he was being a gentleman. "Well, you would still be getting all of the food. And, i would still feel bad."

Shadow was puzzled by her last words; "Why would it make you feel bad?" he asked, tilting his head curiously.

Cami didn't get why he didn't get it. "Well I fell like you are doing everything for me like i am some little puppy. and i feel bad!" She didn't want to sound mean, but she just wanted Shadow to get her point.

"Oh, you should have told me," said Shadow understandingly; "Well, is there anything around here that you know you're good at that we can try?" he asked.

Cami smiled at him, she was glad that he did care. "That; is really sweet of you but i don't really know what i am good at. i normally find leftovers somewhere and sleep on the beach! i make life on my own simple. i have no real home or anything like that." She didn't know if Shadow knew that she didn't have a home.

Shadow felt sorry for her when she said this; he may be a bit of a loner, but he still had a home and family; "Maybe you should live with me and my family," he said, hoping that he didn't sound like he was forcing her to do so.

Cami was speechless for a few moments. She didn't know what to say. Finally she thought of something. "Thanks so much. But i would hate to intrude. would your family accept me?"

Shadow smiled at her; "I'm sure they will; most of my siblings were given away to people, so my brother and I are the only ones that stayed with them," he said.

Cami still wasn't too sure, but decided that she would give it a try, "Ok, aren't they wondering where you are, we haven't seen them in two days.?" Cami asked puzzled.
