Shadow chuckled a bit; "No, they never wonder where I am; one of my best friends lives in a forest near our town, and sometimes I spend a few weeks with her and her mate, so they're never too worried," he said.

Cami smiled. "Oh, so they think that you have been with them. i see. Ok, do you want to go back now or later?" She was wagging her tail, but her tail didn't cause a wind or the sand to move because her tail was too small and shorter than Shadow's.

Cami thought for a moment, she wasn't quite sure. "Ok I guess that we can get moving. How far away do they live? What are their names?" She was bubbling with questions.

Shadow thought about the first question; "I'd say it's around five miles from here, ten at most. And my parents' names are Balto and Jenna," he said casually.

Cami's jaw dwopped. "You mean t-that you are Balto's son!? i am sorry, but I have heard many stories about Balto, and he is one of my hero's!" She was truely amazed. And almost didn't believe what she had just heard.

Shadow blushed a little; "Yeah, I'm his first son, so I'm talked about a lot in our town; he's pretty much a legend there," he said, imagining Cami's reaction when she would meet his father face-to-face

Cami was really excited about meeting Balto, but she was nervous at the same time. She was still full of questions. "Do you think that he will like me? I am not the best choice for Balto's son." She felt like she wouldn't be good enough for Balto to accept her.

Shadow didn't believe what he heard her say; "Don't think that about yourself, you're loads better than the others who fall for me; besides, everyone thought my dad wasn't to good for my mother before he became a hero," he said.

Cami ws so glad that he thought that. "You really think of me like that?!" She was so happy, and felt much better about meeting Balto. They were almost there, and Cami began to get really nervous again.

"Of course," said Shadow; "You're the only one who's fallen for me because something besides just my looks; everyone else couldn't care less what I am like, just that they'd look good parading around with someone that is talked about because they're handsome," he said, rolling his eyes as Sylvie and Dixie came to mind.

Cami could see why everyone fell for his looks, but she didn't get why they didn't get to see his personality. Shadow has the best personality anyone can have. She thought. "Well, about how much longer?" She didn't want to seem bored or annoyed, but she was really anxious.
(OOC: I spelled anxious wrong in the thing, but i don't know how to spell it right. sorry!)

Cami looked up at it. "Wow it is really beautiful here." She really studied it. Suddenly she was starting to get a bit thirsty and a tiny bit hungry.

Cami didn't want to feel useless again. "I am a bit hungry, but i can wait until we get to your place. I am not that hungry." She really was hungry, but she hoped thet he wouldn't realize that she was lying.

"Well, I'll show you my place, then we can go eat," he said with a smile. They approached a large boat that looked like it had been capsizing before it froze in the ice; "Here's where my dad and I live; I know it's not much," he said.

Cami couldn't believe what she just heard, "It's not much?! Do you hear yourself? This is better than all of the 3 homes that i have lived in before!" She never liked to say that she had been moved s many times, but she felt fine telling Shadow. It really was nice, Cami thought that it had a homey feel.

Shadow was surprised at what Cami had said; "Really, three homes and none as good as this?" he said in astonishment; Cami looked like she had come from a more sophisticated life than he had.

Shadow didn't pursue the subject of Cami's previous homes; "Well, there's not much bad about this place, except that it gets pretty cold sometimes, since this boat is kind of in disrepair," he said, swishing his long tail in thought; "I don't know where my dad could be right now, maybe in town if there's a race going on."

Cami once took another look at the boat, and then back to Shadow. "Cool, do you want to go into town to go and llok for him?" She was excited to go around the town.

"Sure, there's not much else to do here," said Shadow, beginning to walk towards town with Cami; "By the way, if you see an Afghan Hound and another really small dog, tell me so we can find a place to hide," he said with a nervous chuckle.

When Cami heard the last thing that Shadow had said she got nervous. "What do you mean, find a place to hide?" She wasn't fully sure what he had meant.

Shadow noticed Cami's expression; "They're not dangerous or anything, it's just that they're always trying to flirt with me, so I'd rather that they don't see me," he said.
