Re: Shadow meets Elysium
Ely was confused for a moment.
"Humans? Oh... Aliens. I see."
He looked at the tail once more.
"That's a really different taste to my usual diet."

Re: Shadow meets Elysium
Shadow chuckled at the comment about his tail; "My ears actually have a sweet taste, too, if you want to see," he said.
Re: Shadow meets Elysium
Ely laughed.
"Maybe later. I think I've embarrassed myself enough today."
And then after a short period, he leaned forward and gave one of the ears a quick lick. Another bizarre taste. Pulling back, he said jokingly:
"OK, now that is enough disgracing myself for one day."

Re: Shadow meets Elysium
"Suit yourself," said Shadow with a laugh; he felt playful, so he proceeded to start tickling the penguin with his tail.
Re: Shadow meets Elysium
Ely chuckled and playfully fought off the tail, feeling a little less embarrassed by his overly forward behavior. Usually, he was quite reserved and shy, so he felt that he'd shamed himself a little. But, he could see that Shadow thought nothing of it, and so started to enjoy himself a bit more.
Re: Shadow meets Elysium
Shadow was glad that Ely was enjoying himself now; "So, what do you feel like doing?" he asked in a playful voice.
Re: Shadow meets Elysium
Ely thought about this.
"Well, I don't know this place too well, so you'd better think of something. I'm open to anything."

Re: Shadow meets Elysium
Shadow thought for a moment; "Well, since it's dark out, I suppose we could stroll through the town; does that work for you?" he asked.
Re: Shadow meets Elysium
Ely nodded and smiled.
"Yeah, sure, sounds like fun."
He turned to look over the edge of the box, but turned back.
"Uh... a little help, please?"

Re: Shadow meets Elysium
"Okay," said Shadow with a chuckle, and he lowered his rump slightly; "here, grab on towards the base of my tail; that way when I hop down, it won't move as much," he suggested.
Re: Shadow meets Elysium
"Okay, hang on!" said Shadow; he chuckled, as these last words caused the penguin to press his face against Shadow's rump in anticipation of the leap. He took the jump as gently as possible, landing gracefully in the snow, his large paws sinking several inches into the ground.
Re: Shadow meets Elysium
Ely fell off Shadow's tail and over from the impact of hitting the ground, but got up giggling, brushing himself off. He'd just had a weak grip, was all. He smiled over at Shadow, showing he was fine, the snow had cushioned the fall.
"Lead the way, friend. I'm most interested to see the habitat in which these humans live."
He'd never actually seen a human town before this day.
"Oh, and be sure not to skip on your favorite areas, I'd love to see them too."

Re: Shadow meets Elysium
"Okay, although this will be the first time in a while that I've wandered the streets, even at night; I try to stay hidden as much as I can during the day," said Shadow, rolling his eyes a bit.
Re: Shadow meets Elysium
Taking note of the facial expressions, Ely questioned:
"So... the humans don't like you too much, do they?"

Re: Shadow meets Elysium
Shadow chuckled; "Oh, the humans love me! It's the dogs that love me a bit too much that I can't stand," he said, his tail swishing back and forth again.
Re: Shadow meets Elysium
Ely suddenly burst out laughing.
"Oh, yeah, of course, the tail doesn't help your cause much!"

Re: Shadow meets Elysium
Shadow laughed at this comment; "Well, I was discovered long before I found out about my tail, and all of the females in town were lovestruck with me, two in particular," he said, rolling his eyes again.
Re: Shadow meets Elysium
"Oh?"
Ely was intrigued now. He was also reminded once more of his female at home, but he remained quiet about it. He put her to a different part of his mind.

Re: Shadow meets Elysium
"Yeah, they stalk me all the time if I'm in the street; what's really creepy is that, like everyone else, they used to love a dog who was my father's rival, so that probably means they're a bit older that me," said Shadow in exasperation.
Re: Shadow meets Elysium
"Ah, I see..."
Ely wasn't sure what to make of all this, so he said:
"Well, I'll keep an eye out for these females, tell ya if I spot them."

Re: Shadow meets Elysium
"Thanks," said Shadow appreciatively, walking down the snow-covered street; "If you ever have a hard time seeing, just hold on to my tail, and I'll guide you."
Re: Shadow meets Elysium
Ely smiled.
"Yeah, sure, no prob."
He followed, and replied.
"Thanks. I'll just warn you in advance so that you don't get a freight or something."
