Shadow limped through the snow calling Cinder's name, unsure of whether she was out here, or maybe she had gone back to Nome where it was safe.

Mkita still smelled the sent, and it was becoming stronger, and then she heard "inderar! inderar!" and her sleepiness took over, she fell asleep.

Shadow collapsed with exhaustion some one-hundred feet away from the mouth of the cave where Cinder and Makita were sheltered, but he was unaware of their presence there. He was too tired to move another inch, so he fell asleep in the snow. Snow was constantly falling on him, covering patches of his fur with white, but his fur was so warm that it would melt after a while, meaning that he would not be buried by the snow.

Soon Makita realized that she was sleeping, she forced herself awake and saw a red lump in the snow, not to far from the cave. She walked towards it and sniffed it, it seemed sickly and cold. Makita was a very strong wolf, so she dragged the helpless bundle into the cave

Shadow was still fast asleep, unaware of how the snow had sapped him of his strength; he was practically frozen solid, lots of his fur iced over from melting the snow with its heat, then the snow freezing again later on.

When the morning came, Cinder and Shadow were still asleep, but Makita was still up.

Shadow was not only asleep, but the cold had put him into a sort of state of hibernation; if it were not for him breathing, he seemed dead.

Makita saw the bundle frozen still. She walked over to it and proded "Hey, you, are you ok?" she whispired and shoke him

Shadow didn't respond except for a slight mist coming from his mouth that showed he was still breathing; his legs and tail were stiff like how they would become after you die.

ooc: wow, same situation as Kodi; he's like a popsicle, and not in the good way o_o

" OHMYGODD!!!" Makita screamed "IT'S A............. ZOMBIE!!!!!" At this ciner woke up with a start, and reconized Shadow immediatly "Yousonofabit." cinder murmured "You got yourself killed....." But she still walked over to him and licked his face, but her own face shown pure annoyance and anger, with a little sadness too.

Shadow was a bit more in tune with reality when he heard Makita scream, but he was still asleep, but he could feel something on his face; he was still breathing slowly and deeply, the only thing indicating that he was still alive.

Cinder stared at Shadow, finally seeing that he was still breathing, and saw that he was asleep. Feeling a stab of sympathy, she laid on him and stating biting his ears. Brownie popsicles

Shadow felt the familiar sensation on his ears as he slept, and although it was for some reason exhausting to do so, gave a weak smile in his sleep.

Shadow was exhausted; even smiling drained him of his energy, and he completely fell asleep again.

Cinder got off him and was annoyed. "Just leave him there." She said. "He'll sleep for the rest of his life."

Shadow heard Cinder, and was confused at her change in attitude; it was too tiring for him to speak, but he was able to let out a faint whine.

She's mad becasue she didn't want Shadow to follow her, but to stay in the cave. Of course he didn't so she's pissed xD

Cinder ignored Shadow's whine and went outside. m "I'll go hunting today" she said.

Well, she didn't tell him to stay there if I remember correctly xD And how does she think that he'd just stay there thinking about all the possibilities of what could happen to her?

After a few minutes, Shadow was able to open his eyes, but he was confused when he saw that Cinder was gone; he stared curiously at Makita, unaware that she was the one who had saved his life.

Makita turned to Shadow "Oh, hey there! You woke up! You've been sleeping for hours. Cinder's out hunting, if you're wondering. She hasn't been back for a while though...... well, trying to find elk is really hard ast this time of year. Se let's give it a few more minutes"

Shadow nodded sadly; "I heard her say that; why is she so mad at me? I couldn't stand being without her, so why is she acting like I don't care about her?" he thought out loud, a tear running down his cheek.

Makita was suprised and looked at him. "Well, I kinda don't blame her. I thought she was coming alone to get the recsue sled to come and take YOU, but obviously you disobeyed so now she's afraid you might get even more hurt while you're tagging along."

Shadow looked sadly at the ground; "She never told me to stay, but I suppose you're right; I'm just letting my love for her run everything I do, and I get so worried about her..."

"She's a wolf, Shadow, she has free-will and can take care of herself, what do you think she did BEFORE she met you?" Makita said a bit annoyed by Shadow's babying with Cinder.

Shadow flinched at Makita's tone, flattening his ears against his head; "I know, I just feel obligated to make sure she's safe after... she saved my life," he said sadly, laying his head on the ground, tears welling in his eyes.
